This is a nationwide event. Every protest, block party, march, and voter registration drive will look a little different across districts and states. Early voting in Washington State starts on Friday, October 16th. By October 17th, everyone should have their ballots in-hand. The purpose of this event is three-fold: Double check the status of your ballot/registration or register to vote at our voter registration booths; Spread awareness about the laws in our state and how to easily find the voting laws and action plans in other states so we can talk to our friends and family who may be otherwise “shy” voters; and to celebrate this fundamental right with each other.
The voter registration booths will be open from 11AM to 1PM at Village Park and Islandale Grocery. The voter registration booths are non-partisan. The vigil and the march is, as always, what we make of it – a tribute to democracy and hope.

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing Lopez together to make spread awareness to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and check their registration and/or ballot.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
