Join Indivisible San Mateo to celebrate No Kings Vote Early on Saturday, October 17th, from 1 to 2:30 pm., at El Camino and 31st Avenue in San Mateo. This is the moment we’ve been waiting for: to vote to put the brakes on Trump and his agenda.
PLEASE BRING YOUR “VOTING” SIGNS; FOR EXAMPLE, “VOTE EARLY,” “YOUR VOICE IS YOUR VOTE,” “YOUR VOTE MATTERS,” “PLEASE VOTE,” “BE HEARD, VOTE,” “VOTE FOR DEMOCRACY,” “VOTING IS MY SUPER POWER,” “DEMOCRACY NEEDS YOU, VOTE!” ETC.
We want everyone to vote early. By voting early, we will make it much harder for Trump to mess with our election. Bring your signs and yourselves to spread the word to everyone to vote early. We’ll proudly stand on the street and let the world know that we stand for the democratic principle of voting. Pro-democracy guest speakers will inspire us and The Freedom Strummers will entertain us with their songs of freedom and democracy.
If you haven’t already voted or you just want to submit your ballot with a bunch of other democracy-loving people, you can walk with us to the nearest ballot drop box location at City Hall to cast your ballot there. At 2 p.m., we’ll meet at El Camino and 28th Avenue on the west side and walk the mile to the ballot box at City Hall.
Please sign up and join us for No Kings Vote Early! By signing up, we can contact you if Trump tries to threaten our election. This midterm election is where we start to take back our democracy. Trump won’t like that and he may do something that will necessitate a big response from all of us. If we’re able to contact you, we can let you know what we need to do.
We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
