We will be kicking off Early Voting in Maynard. Indivisible Maynard Area and the League of Women Voters Acton Area are teaming up to bring a joyful community event. Come join us for a celebration of our democracy. This is a nonpartisan, family-friendly event. We will have music, speakers, face painting, and activities. We will educate folks on their voting rights, the ballot, and collectively take part in some quick, meaningful actions to make this year’s midterm elections turnout the biggest ever. We will also add to our town’s Maynard ROCKS! collection with messages about voting and using your voice (bring rocks to paint).
Since this is a nonpartisan event, please do not bring any signs that would promote any particular party or candidate. Flags are welcome!
Unlike past No Kings events, October 17th is designed to be a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. Come join this National Day of Action to spread the simple message: Vote Early!
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
