## We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.
For more than a year, millions of people have come together raising our voices at marches and rallies to REJECT the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early.
**WE** have the power to decide the future. And the more people who participate in our democracy through voting, the more powerful our democracy can be.
**Why vote early?** With all the changes in election laws, voting early ensures that if there is a problem with your voter registration, you have time to get that fixed! North Carolina has same-day voter registration during early voting but not on election day. **If you wait until election day to vote and there is an issue with your registration, you will have to cast a provisional ballot and take extra steps to ensure your vote is counted.**
Now is the time to raise our voices by voting! Join No Kings: Vote Early – Pledge to the Polls by signing up on Mobilize and choosing a time slot on the sign-up genius when you would like to vote early on October 17. Then make your plan and bring three people with you! Let’s make this year the highest voter turnout ever!

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
