We will be meeting from 10am-1pm on October 17th. Please bring a chair if needed and don’t forget water. We will also provide water if you forget. We will be meeting in front of the Posner Park entrance by first Watch. Please do not park in First Watch’s parking lot. They are kind enough to let us be there every Sat & we would not like to ruin that. Park by Marshalls please.
We will have a table there to register voters & hand out info for the upcoming elections.
We will also be collecting food for the Hope food pantry located in four corners. Please if you are at all able, they are in dire need of the following–1. Diapers, all sizes (including pull ups for toddlers), 2. Baby formula, 3. Regular milk, 4. Butter or margarine, 5. Meat, anything you can provide, (including lunch meat for kids lunches), 6. Juice boxes, ext.
Those are the heaviest needs, but anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated by our neighbors who are afraid to leave their homes to go shopping.
Please make signs that have to do with early voting or just voting in general. The goal is to get people to vote early & to vote in such large numbers that there is no controversy on who won the election.
**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
