We meet at 10 AM at the intersection of Oak St & Campanelli Industrial Dr with signs to encourage EARLY VOTING and ELECTION PROTECTION. Then we *MARCH TO THE POLLS* at Westgate Mall to cast our votes for the leaders we deserve.
Bring signs, or make them at the event! Besides the many possibilities of No Kings, you could make NO KINGS VOTE EARLY OCTOBER 17 – 30, or DEFEND DEMOCRACY: VOTE! or HANDS OFF OUR VOTE, etc.
Marchers, including all who plan to vote, will stay on the south (Campanelli) side of Oak St. At 11 AM marchers meet in the Workout World parking lot, then walk 0.6 mi to the 200 Westgate Dr polling place. Signs naming or suggesting a political party, candidate or vote preference cannot come into the mall, but must be left at the bottom of Campanelli Industrial Dr. Voters can retrieve signs and make the return march to Oak St. The standout ends at 12:30 PM. (The Westgate Mall polling place is open for the first day of early voting on Oct 17, 9 AM to 3 PM. The last day for early voting is Oct 30.)
*Bring friends: if voting is our power, persuading others to vote is our superpower! Come and sing and dance to the music, and show our neighbors the joy of people power!*
This event is hosted by Brockton Indivisible — one of thousands of local Indivisible groups across America. Join us!
**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
