Join us to encourage early voting at 1 of 8 key intersections in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Or, decorate your vehicle for a car parade along the Laskin Rd./Virginia Beach Blvd. corridor in Virginia Beach.
Sign up here and you can **choose your intersection** in Norfolk or Virginia Beach. Or, choose **car parade** for that event in Virginia Beach. (Please note there is no centralized rally planned for this event in Virginia Beach. To sign up for events in other Coastal Virginia localities, please look for their listings on Mobilize.)
At each Virginia Beach or Norfolk intersection, expect trained marshalls to help provide direction and guidance. Bring your signs, costumes, chants and music!
The Virginia Beach and Norfolk events are hosted by a coalition of Indivisibles and Grassroots Organizations throughout Coastal Virginia; we’ve hosted plenty of rallies– but the real work is in the days in between. **PLEASE GET INVOLVED!**
While at your intersection look for members of grassroots organizations who can suggest ways you can help motivate voters to go to the polls. It’s time to elect federal legislators who will stand up to Trump and thwart his administration’s agenda. But it’s also time to elect local progressives to city council and school board positions. And, it’s time to VOTE YES to **three amendments** to Virginia’s Constitution. The November midterms are our chance to make real change in our nation, our state, and our local communities. **GO OUT TO EARY VOTE** together.
### STAY SAFE
– This event is on sidewalks and public right of ways and cannot impede vehicular or pedestrian traffic in any way.
– A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. (Anticipate that counter protesters could show up. We’ve found that a smile and wave is the best response.)
– Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
