No Kings: Party at the Polls: Vote Early Durham Location #1 of 3

Join the Durham Resistance Coalition, Engaged Defenders for Democracy, League of Women Voters Orange and Durham County, Democracy Out Loud!, Men 4 Choice, SURJ, Carolina Federation, and Siembra NC as we host a No Kings Party at the Polls to help this nation break a record and have the biggest turnout on an early voting day!

This will not be a typical No Kings event. This will be a Party at the Polls where we will have music and food but no speakers.

The event goes from 10am-12pm.

The purpose is two-fold: 1. Encourage as many to vote on Oct 17th as possible, and 2. Sign up for ways to plug in and encourage early voting.

In Durham, we will have three geographic locations and ask that people spread out and not all choose our “normal” spot:

1. South Regional Library
2. Durham County Board of Elections
3. Main Library

This link is for the Main Library. We will meet at “The Bull” 211 W. Parrish Durham, 27701

The event goes from 10-12. We will send waves of people to march to the polls to not overwhelm the polling station.

We are asking for donations for the food please:

See you at the Party for the Polls, and please spread the word!

**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
