Hi! I wish to replace the description with the following, please:
Voting is our SuperPower! Join us October 17 to spread the NKVE message in our caravan!
October 17 is No Kings Vote Early day, and Indivisible 1431 will spread the word across Williamson and Travis Counties that Voting is Our Superpower. This is the most important election of our lives.
Caravan from Georgetown to Lago Vista or points between!
Indivisible 1431 invites YOU to join our planned No Kings Vote Early Caravan from Georgetown, TX, to Lago Vista, and points in between. Indivisible 1431 members will drive decorated cars alive with the message to Vote Early and that Voting is Our SuperPower! We will also rally in Round Rock, Cedar Park, Jonestown, and Lago Vista.
Please let us know what your preference for 10/17. You can drive the entire route from Georgetown to Lago Vista, or anywhere along the route.
We will meet in Georgetown at 9:30-9:45 am. Most of us will be already decorated, but we will have extra decorations pointing to VOTE EARLY!
At 10, we drive to Round Rock Public Library, where we will hold a brief rally, and hand out voting info. Then to Cedar Park for a rally at US 183A & E Whitestone. On to Jonestown, rally, and ditto in Lago Vista. We’ll finish around 1-ish in Lago, relax with refreshments, and make our final rally of the day!
No Kings Vote Early is a nationwide, nonpartisan event to promote early voting to protect our democracy. The event is on October 17. (Of course, early voting in Texas begins on Monday, October 19, and runs through Friday, October 30. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.)
Voting is our greatest tool to protect our democracy and everything about America that is dear to us. Together, we can change course away from white, christian nationalism, fascism, high prices, insane wars, and unparalleled corruption.
But we must stand together! And voting early is an election protection tool:
– Early voting increases voter turnout
– Early voting prevents long lines or problems at the polling place
– Early voting helps reduce the impact of a major disruption on Election Day.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
