About this engagement

No Kings: Vote Early! Annandale, VA, I-495 Bridge Brigade

Many of you have been asking about No Kings Day 4. Are we going to have one? If so when, where, and what will it be? We finally received guidance from Indivisible National, and they are asking us to put down our protest signs and pick up our VOTE HERE TODAY signs. The main day of action is October 17, and the main message is VOTE EARLY! If you believe in democracy, as we do, you understand that there is a time and a place to protest and there is a time and a place to take action to effect positive change. The most powerful force that we have is the ability to mobilize millions of voters to vote for change.

So what is Sandoval County Indivisible actually doing about this? On Tuesday, October 6, outside the Sandoval County offices at the corner of Idalia Road and Highway 528 in Rio Rancho we will be holding a VOTE EARLY rally. October 6 is the first day of early voting in NM, and the only early voting site open that day is at the Sandoval County Clerk’s office. The rally will run from 10:00 AM to Noon. We will have VOTE EARLY signs for all participants (VOTE EARLY, VOTE HERE TODAY with arrows pointing the way, and other signs as well).

In addition, on Saturday, October 17, we will be holding another series of similar rallies at other early voting localities within the county, including at two early voting sites in Rio Rancho (Idalia Rd at 528 and St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2903 Cabezon Blvd.), one in Corrales (Corrales Rd across from the Corrales Village Offices, and one in Bernalillo (our Lady of Sorrows Gym, 319 S Camino del Pueblo).

Idalia Rd – 10:00 to noon
St Francis – 10:00 to noon
Corrales – 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
Bernalillo – 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

We need masses of people to show up at these rallies, and we are hoping that most of you will participate. We will all have similar signs and will try to broadcast a united message.

**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
