Come stand with B.N.W., and Rise Up Chesapeake, and friends of democracy in our region to encourage early voting, and maximum voter participation. We will be rallying on the corner of Atlantic Ave & Battlefield Blvd, Oct. 17th, as a collective family, and community.
B.W.N., and Rise Up Chesapeake are hosting this event in cooperation with two partner organizations hosting simultaneous events around our city.
Veterans for Peace is hosting an event at 910 Great Bridge Blvd, while South Hampton Roads Indivisible is hosting at Taylor Rd., and Portsmouth Blvd., during the same time frame.
Arrive by 10 AM to stake out your spot and be part of the largest GOTV event in Chesapeake during this election season. Contact the hosting organizations if you are willing to volunteer for a facilitator role.
Bring your signs, flags, and other message bearing items, as we stand at intersection from 10:00am-12:00pm. And be sure to share messages revolving around getting out to vote, and voters rights. Along with messages supporting the three constitutional amendments on the ballot this year. Which is Reproductive Freedom, Marriage Equality, and Voter Rights Restoration.
Furthermore, due to the small parking lot behind the event, we encourage people to park at the Food Lion across the street. Which will require you to walk across Campostella Road to participate in the event. This is purely to prevent overcrowding, so if you are physically disabled feel free to park at the Dollar General behind the event.
Different to previous No Kings actions, on October 17th, we are bringing Chesapeake together to make a plan to vote early. By ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote, and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
