Bedford Indivisible will be hosting a voter information and registration drive on Saturday, October 17th at Pearl Albert-Green Park (directly in front of the Kroger on Sterns & Secor) as part of Indivisible’s nationwide day of action NO KINGS 4! We will have tables set up with nonpartisan information on ballot measures, sample ballots, and instructions for how voters can register to vote/check their registration. We will need at least 3 or 4 people to volunteer to work the tables. Due to the heavy traffic in the surrounding area, we need to be extra cautious of our surroundings. Safety above all else.
We want this No Kings to be laser focused on patriotism, voting, and non-partisan messaging. We know that this may be a bit of a letdown, but due to the location, this is a much more difficult and complex threat environment than past events.
If you wish to hold signs, we ask that the messaging not be overtly negative (Keep the swear words to a minimum please). Sidewalks must have space for someone to walk past and we absolutely cannot block any entrances or exits to surrounding businesses. As with other events, we will have safety team members in yellow hi-vis vests.
Lead organizers will be meeting in the parking spaces behind Autozone.
This will be the fourth No Kings event Bedford Indivisible will be hosting and we plan on maintaining our streak of incident and accident free events. If there is any need for medical attention beyond a scrape, Lambertville Urgent Care is across the street and will be open for the duration of the event.
**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
