# No Kings: Vote Early — Irvine 405 Bridge Overpass Visibility Event

## 📅 Saturday, October 17 · 4:00–6:00 PM

Community members and the UC-AFT Local 1474, Irvine Chapter are partnering to provide a place for the Irvine community to gather for this No Kings visibility event. Of course, anyone else is welcome to join us, not just those in Irvine.

Overpass events are fun, safe and get out the word to a lot of people as we get thousands of cars that pass by underneath us! Join us!

## 📍 Location

**THIS IS A VISIBILITY EVENT ON THE JEFFREY PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE OVER THE 405 FREEWAY.**

Getting to the bridge requires a short walk, ride, or skate. There are several pedestrian bridges in the area, so make sure you go to the one **over the 405 between University Drive and Sand Canyon Avenue**. The bridge is closest to University Drive via the University Trail.

## 🚗 Parking

There is no parking at the bridge itself. **Please park only where it says you can park.** 🙂

📍 **University Park (closest — about a 15-minute walk)**
Park in the neighborhood near **Michelson Dr & University Dr**. Cross University Dr at Michelson and walk east on the University Trail to the bridge (~0.6 mi · ~15 min walk / ~5 min ride).

📍 **Quail Hill (south side of the 405 — about a 20-minute walk)**
**Quail Hill Trailhead** – 34 Shady Canyon Dr
Walk west on the Juanita Moe Trail to the bridge (~1 mi · ~20 min walk / ~5 min ride). The lot is small and fills early.

📍 **Woodbridge (north side of the 405 — about a 20-minute walk)**
**Windrow Community Park** – 285 E Yale Loop
Walk south on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail to the bridge (~1 mi · ~20 min walk / ~5 min ride).

## 👑 No Kings Event Info (from No Kings)

> **We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**
>
> For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
>
> Now, we are taking the next step: turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early is not purely a protest. Instead, on **October 17th**, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation. We are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and to ensure every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
>
> Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On **October 17th**, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: **no thrones, no crowns, no kings.**

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

Accessibility

You can access the bridge via the trail that is mostly flat, but be advised that the way up to the overpass itself, there is a hill on both sides of the overpass.
