# NO KINGS BOSTON: Authoritarian House of Horrors
## Ready to escape the nightmare? Vote!
**On Oct. 17, the people of Boston will come together to defend democracy. Our message is simple: Your vote is your power. Make it count.**
As part of the No Kings Boston coalition, Mass 50501 will be hosting an Authoritarian House of Horrors near the Visitor’s Center at Boston Common from 11am-3pm on October 17th.
Featuring six “rooms” so spooky they will make your blood curdle. This is more than just a haunted house – it’s an immersive educational experience. Each “room” is an exhibit dedicated to one of the tactics from the Authoritarian Playbook.
In addition to this toe-curling view of what America could become if we don’t act quickly, we will be there to help get people registered to vote, learn about voting rights and educate on nonviolent sustained action so we are ready to act if there is credible election interference.
There will be soapbox speeches from ghosts of activism’s past to remind us that We the People of these United States have stood up for our rights time and time again and we are once again rising to meet this pivotal moment in American history!
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
