Beyond the Presidential Ballot: A Community Conversation on Local Elections & Your Vote is a nonpartisan voter education event taking place Saturday, October 17, from 2–6 PM at Masjid Bilal of Cleveland, 7401 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio. Featuring former Cleveland City Council member Basheer Jones, the event will help community members understand local government offices, learn what will appear on the ballot, and find trusted voter information. The gathering emphasizes civic education, community engagement, and the importance of participating in local elections beyond the presidential race. The event is presented in partnership with Black Voters Matter, Masjid Bilal of Cleveland, and Clyde Rahman Community Center. Meals will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the Sister Clara Mohammed School, which is described as opening soon. The event encourages residents to become informed voters and strengthen their communities through greater civic participation.

Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
