We will meet on the Neutral Ground at the corner of Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie, Louisiana. (Park in the lot by the mall) from 10:00 am-11:30 am.
This is a non partisan event, so there should be NO signs for specific candidates. We want to encourage our community members to vote early.
Possible sign ideas: “Vote Early”, “Make a Plan to Vote Early”, “Bring a Friend to Vote Early”, perhaps use reasons to vote early: “Avoid Long Lines”, “Help GOTV efforts, the more people who vote early, the fewer they have to focus on getting to vote on Election Day”, “Bank Your Vote Early-in case of illness or shenanigans”, “Protect the Vote” “Volunteer on Election Day”; “Build Momentum-Strong Early Voting builds momentum that is Too Big to Rig”’. The entire message that day will be about Early Voting.
Our window for voting early in Louisiana is October 20th-27th (not on Sunday) from 8:30am-6:00pm.
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are encouraging our community members to make a plan to vote early.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do, join us on October 17th, as we help get out the early vote and say it loud: voters decide elections because we have no thrones, no crowns, no kings here.
