About this engagement

No Kings: Vote Early! Annandale, VA, I-495 Bridge Brigade

The midterms are coming. The world is watching. Here in Canterbury, UK we are inviting US citizens living, studying, visiting or on pilgrimage to Canterbury to take a stand for a better future. On 17 October, we’re planning to come together to celebrate our voting power and stand in solidarity with communities across the US and the world that are working tirelessly to get out the vote for the midterm elections.

Early voting is essential. Whether you’ve voted already or will be sending your ballot in shortly, please join us. Register and make your plan to vote TODAY! On 30 Sept.2026 one of us already received confirmation that ‘Your ballot was received and accepted for counting’ by MI elections. A completed ballot made the 3,280 mile journey from Canterbury, UK across the Atlantic to MI elections. We challenge all US citizens to register and to vote early. Let’s see whose ballot travels the furthest.

On October 17th, join us in local events across the world as we get out the early vote.

Join us in The Buttermarket (Opposite the Christ Church Gate main entrance to Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury, UK. CT1 2JJ)

**Please note that this event is from 12PM – 1PM BST/local time**

**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Tyrants/No Kings actions, No Tyrants/No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
