About this engagement

No Kings: Vote Early! Annandale, VA, I-495 Bridge Brigade

Most people just want to work hard, get ahead, and give their kids and grandkids a better shot – and they should be able to. But the cost of rent, groceries, and health care keeps going up faster than working families can keep up, and paychecks just aren’t stretching the way they used to. Let’s bring those costs down for working people, make sure the biggest corporations pay their fair share, and crack down on corruption and the people who game the system for themselves. Hard work should pay off again – that’s the American way.
To that end, please join us in a non-partisan rally for Early Voting and Safe & Secure Elections that meet everyone’s needs, not just wealthy elites. Additionally, when our elections are under threat, we have a collective duty to step up, protect the vote, and make sure every ballot is safely counted.
As we build people-power, casting a ballot is a key tool for making our voices heard. Millions of out-of-state dollars are pouring into Maine’s elections right now. Super PACs, corporate donors, and billionaires are buying TV ads and filling our mailboxes, trying to tell us what to think. They want our votes, but ignore our voices.
Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
