Indivisible NWCT, in collaboration with Northwest CT Take Action, will hold a nonviolent community NO KINGS (Just Voters) rally on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Coe Park in Torrington.
The rally will focus on the upcoming 2026 election and the importance of voting and participating in the democratic process.
“NO KINGS is about recognizing that power ultimately belongs to the people,” said a representative of Indivisible NWCT. “We want to encourage people to make a plan to vote and to understand the importance of participating in the upcoming election.”
The event will feature guest speakers, who will be announced at a later date, and will provide a peaceful public forum for community members to come together around the importance of voting.
“Voting is one of the most direct ways people can participate in our democracy,” the Indivisible NWCT representative said. “We want people to get informed, make a plan, and make their voices heard.”
The rally is nonviolent and family-friendly. Organizers encourage participants to bring their family and friends, flags and signs, and to show their creativity by wearing costumes. People from Torrington and the surrounding towns are invited to join the community at Coe Park.
