About this engagement

No Kings: Vote Early! Annandale, VA, I-495 Bridge Brigade

Our No Kings: Vote Early! October 17 activities here in the Waterville/Winslow/Oakland/Fairfield/Benton communities of Central Maine, hosted by Indivisible Mid Maine and beginning at 10am that day, will consist of three distinct but interlocking events. Participants can pick and choose which events they want to join!

First, from 10 to 11:45am we will have a short march through downtown Waterville followed by a “signs of democracy” visibility event on the Ticonic Bridge. During this time we will also encourage Waterville voters to deposit their completed absentee ballots in the secure ballot box right nearby, at City Hall, where they will be welcomed joyfully by a group of enthusiastic greeters!

Second, from noon to 1pm, we will march from the same starting point into Head of Falls Park and across the Two Cent Bridge to neighboring Winslow, for a similar celebratory absentee ballot delivery by Winslow voters at the Winslow Town Office, and then will return to our starting point.

Finally, between 1pm and 4pm, we will have a Grand WE VOTE EARLY March, beginning at the same starting point, from Waterville all the way to the Fairfield Town Office (about 3.2 miles) for a celebratory ballot deposit by Fairfield voters there. This will be followed by another “signs of democracy” visibility event on the Fairfield-Benton bridge to end the day.

Please sign up here AND also sign up for the event(s) on our Indivisible Mid Maine Mobilize site, where they are posted individually so we can have a sense of who is coming to what!

We will also have brief but still celebratory absentee ballot drop offs in Benton and Oakland that day, details still TBD. Please watch our Indiv Mid Maine Mobilize site for info on those!

Please join us for all or part of this special day, when we will show our commitment to democracy, the joyful act of voting, and voting early and securely in five different area communities!

Thank you and see you on the 17th!

**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
