About this engagement

No Kings: Vote Early! Annandale, VA, I-495 Bridge Brigade

Join us to create a large visual display using human lettering to spell out VOTE EARLY.

To ensure our VOTE EARLY lettering is clearly visible against the sand in aerial photography, we ask that everyone wear dark clothing-preferably black-including your t-shirt, hat and beach towel. If you prefer you can wear something light and bring a black shirt to pull over it for the pictures. Don’t forget your sunglasses and water.

You will be sitting on the sand for approximately 30 minutes.

Arrive by 10am – The first 1000 people will be guaranteed a spot in a VOTE EARLY letter.

Voter service organizations will be available to provide information and assistance about early voting, voting rights, voter registration, voter protection, volunteer opportunities, and more.

After the drone photography is complete, grab your cooler and join us for a community picnic in the Spa Beach park and beach area.

Parking should be readily available during the morning hours, with approximately 500 metered spaces at the pier with hundreds more in the surrounding area. Even so, we encourage you to consider carpooling, ride share, or biking-Bike racks are available on the pier, near Spa Beach.

This event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of St. Petersburg, Indivisible St Pete, Common Cause, The National Organization for Women, ACLU, Allendale United Methodist Church, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of St Petersburg

**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
