About this engagement

No Kings: Vote Early! Annandale, VA, I-495 Bridge Brigade

**Come join us at No Kings: Vote Early Apex on Saturday October 17, from 9:30 – 11:00 AM** on the public sidewalks surrounding the entrance to Beaver Creek Commons (at the intersection of Highway 55 and Beaver Creek Commons Drive.)

**Think of this Honk & Wave rally as your pre-game to early voting!** Come join us to get fired up and let everyone driving past us know how important it is to vote early this year. Afterwards, you can head on over to the John Brown Community Center to cast your votes!

**Early voting is the safest way to make sure that your vote will be counted.** There have been efforts to purge voters from the voter registration rolls. If you discover this when you go to vote during Early Voting (from October 15 – 31), you can immediately use same-day voter registration to correct your voter registration record. If you don’t discover this until November 3, though, you’ll be out of luck, as registration changes cannot be made on election day. The best you could hope for then would be a chance to file a provisional ballot, but there is a high chance that it would be denied.

**Let’s make this a record year for Early Voting! Make our turnout numbers too big to rig, and signal that We the People stand for Democracy and demand change.**

**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

Accessibility

Parking is the responsibility of individuals attending the No Kings event. Here are some suggestions to help make the event smoother for everyone

-**Carpool!** Call up friends and ask if they want to share a ride.

-Plan to leave the first several rows of parking next to the buildings open for customers, **particularly those near the Urgent Care center.** Park further from the buildings / closer to the sidewalks.

-If you are healthy enough to do so, please be willing to park a little bit further away and walk. There is normally a good deal of parking space close to the road by Target and Lowes. The parking lot at Apex Medical Park (south of Carrabas on Highway 55) is normally unoccupied on Saturdays.

-The GoApex bus stops on Highway 55 at Haddon Hall Drive. Parking remotely and taking the bus in may be a possibility. However, keep in mind that the bus has a fairly small capacity and may fill quickly.

-Avoid parking on the Northeast side of Highway 55 (The Bakers Dozen / Goodwill side). There are very few spaces there, and it is posted as a tow-away zone.
